About CalGreen
On January 1, 2011, the California Building Standards Commission implemented the nation's first mandatory state-wide green building code, intended to encourage more sustainable and environmentally friendly building practices. The Green Building Standards Code, or CALGreen:
- Impacts all new non-residential buildings
- Impacts all new residential buildings up to 3 stories, including motels, hotels, and apartments
- Requires an overall reduction of potable water consumption by at least 20%
- Applies to faucets as well as water closets and multiple showerhead installations.
Chicago Faucets CALGreen compliant products feature low flow rates from .35 GPM to 1.5 GPM. These products are from our ECAST® line and meet the latest California laws regarding lead content.
